hanging instructions
See your wallpaper settle into your space
A few notes before you begin…
Our wallpapers are crafted with care, and we recommend they are hung with the same attention to detail. For the best results, please use a professional decorator experienced in hanging non-woven wall-coverings.
-
Check that you have received the correct design, colourway and number of rolls.
Ensure all rolls have the same batch number and are in good condition.
Inspect each roll before cutting - once wallpaper has been cut or hung, we cannot accept claims for faults.
Keep all roll labels until the installation is complete.
-
A well-prepared wall makes all the difference.
Ensure walls are clean, dry, smooth and sound.
Remove old wallpaper, flaking paint or surface defects.
Fill and sand any holes or cracks as required.
Avoid hanging wallpaper on walls with a history of dampness or ongoing moisture issues.
For the most refined finish, we recommend cross-lining with a good-quality lining paper. Allow it to dry fully before installation.
Mark a plumb line for your first drop to ensure the design hangs straight.
-
This wallpaper is paste-the-wall.
Use a good-quality, solvent-free, fungicide-protected, ready-mixed tub adhesive suitable for non-woven wallpapers.
Apply adhesive directly to the wall, not to the back of the wallpaper.
Avoid getting adhesive on the printed surface - this can cause damage and returns cannot be accepted where adhesive has marked or spoiled the wallpaper.
If paste reaches the printed surface, gently wipe while still moist with a clean, damp sponge. Use plain water only - no detergents or cleaning products, and do not scrub.
-
Apply paste to the wall, covering an area slightly wider than the width of the roll.
Position the first dry length along your plumb line.
Smooth the wallpaper from the centre outwards using a wallpaper brush or spatula to remove air bubbles.
Use butt joins, taking care not to force adhesive out at the seams.
Trim excess at the top and bottom with a sharp blade and straight edge.
Continue hanging drops, carefully matching the pattern repeat.
Check each length before moving on. Any concerns should be raised before cutting or hanging further paper.
Allow wallpaper to dry naturally. Gentle ventilation helps. Avoid strong heat or forced drying.
-
This wallpaper is spongeable. Use a lightly damp sponge only. Avoid harsh or abrasive cleaners.
In high-traffic or moisture-prone areas (such as hallways, kitchens or bathrooms), your decorator will recommend a suitable clear protective varnish for added durability.
Always follow professional advice when selecting products.
