Apothecary at Clerkenwell

Next week, samples from my debut wallpaper collection, Apothecary, will be available to explore at Clerkenwell Design Week on the House of Estila stand.

wallpaper is best experienced in person

Scale changes everything. Texture catches the light differently throughout the day. Colour settles in ways that are difficult to fully understand through a screen alone.

That physical relationship with surface has always been important to me, particularly with Apothecary, a collection shaped through observation - gathered from hedgerows, pressed botanicals, shifting light, and the layered colour relationships found in nature.

designed to be lived with

Each design was created to feel considered and lived with, rather than simply viewed. The softness of repetition, the rhythm within pattern, and the way colour responds to its surroundings all become clearer when seen at scale.

There’s also something quietly grounding about wallpaper samples themselves. Held in the hand, moved through different light, placed beside fabric, timber, paint, and stone — they begin to form part of a wider conversation about how a home might feel.

House of Estila will be exhibiting throughout Clerkenwell Design Week from Tuesday, with Apothecary available to browse among their curated material library.

House of Estila also recently shared a little more about the story behind Apothecary here.

If you happen to be visiting, I hope you enjoy seeing the collection in person.
